Ásbyrgi Canyon (11 km)

The horseshoe-shaped canyon is part of the Vatnajökull National Park and measures approximately 3.5 km in length and 1.1 km across. For more than half of its length, the canyon is divided through the middle by a distinctive rock formation 25 meters high called "the Island", from which hikers may enjoy spectacular views.

Dettifoss Waterfall (35 km)

Dettifoss is the largest waterfall in Europe in terms of volume discharge. It is situated on the Jökulsá á Fjöllum river, which flows from the Vatnajökull glacier and collects water from a large area in Northeast Iceland. The falls are 100 meters wide and have a drop of 45 meters down to the Jökulsárgljúfur canyon.

Town of Húsavík (50 km)

Húsavík is a town on the north coast of Iceland, on the shores of Skjálfandi bay, with 2,500 inhabitants. The most famous landmark of the town is the wooden church Húsavíkurkirkja, built in 1907. Húsavík is the whale watching capital of Europe. It is home three museums, the Whale Museum, the Exploration Museum and Húsavík Museum.
